ESMA critiques national regulators for cross-border supervision shortcomings

The European Union’s securities regulator has found several of the bloc’s regulators are not meeting required standards when supervising firms that carry out cross-border activities, singling out Cyprus’ securities watchdog for numerous deficiencies in the area.
