HSBC and Scotia Capital fined over recordkeeping failures

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has reminded banks of the importance of following its recordkeeping requirements after fining HSBC and Bank of Nova Scotia’s US securities entities for employees’ “pervasive and longstanding” use of WhatsApp to discuss business matters.
