Third country benchmarks rules “not fit for purpose”, ESMA says
The EU’s securities regulator has criticised rules around the use of benchmarks administered in countries outside the bloc – due to come into force in 2024 – as “not fit-for-purpose”, and welcomed the responsibility to supervise certain benchmarks itself.
