Patrick Sun is a counsel in the Shanghai office of Fangda Partners.

Patrick has extensive experience in the area of banking and finance, with an in-depth focus on pre-IPO finance, property finance, real estate development finance, acquisition finance, trade finance and regulatory matters of financial institutions. Patrick has particular expertise in deals involving mainland China-based borrowers or borrowers with PRC operations and businesses.

Patrick is very familiar with foreign debt registrations with NDRC and the Chinese foreign exchange regime, advising plenty of financial institutions and corporations on these matters in their cross-border transactions. Patrick also advises payment institutions, cross-border payment service providers and regulatory agencies on various matters related to third-party payments and business compliance, etc.

Before joining Fangda, Patrick worked for a reputable international law firm and a leading PRC law firm for several years. Patrick was admitted to the Chinese Bar (as an attorney) in 2012. He speaks Chinese (Mandarin) and English.
